Yiwei believes in wielding the law as a tool to provide concrete and pragmatic solutions for unions and workers. Before law school, Yiwei studied political science at Queen's University and the University of Toronto, where he eventually grew tired of complaining about the infringement of workers’ and human rights in research papers.
While studying law at the University of Toronto, Yiwei volunteered at Downtown Legal Services and assisted refugees and migrants in legal proceedings, including in judicial review applications before the Federal Court. He joined CaleyWray after articling at a prominent union-side labour law and litigation firm in Toronto.
When he's not working, Yiwei likes playing boardgames, badminton, and hopes to get back into playing table tennis.
